CAS

Now this is a new concept for me I usually do lots on a card but have been asked to do some simple Christmas cards and as I have a new Christmas die or two thought it would be a good way to show them off
So I adhered red card to a white base card cut the ornament (the new one) and greeting with the cuttle bug adhered to white card then adhered to the red card and that was it done, quick and easy but...
I am sitting here thinking it's so plain guess I will show it to my friend before making her some more
I was inspired by the bakers twine and the CAS theme

Bird cage

Thought I would try something different other than a card.Always wanted to give book folding a try but thought it would be too complicated
Took me about two hours to fold the book  and as the folding increases it gets a bit bulky so I had to use clips and clothes pegs to keep it all together but I got there in the end
After gluing it shut it was time to decorate
I glued the lace to top and bottom with the hot glue gun, glued in the braided ribbon for it to hang with,I made all the flowers  using three different dies  cut butterflies with a die, all on the cuttle bug glued them on with the glue gun, cut two birds on the cut n scan glued them together and sat them into the fold, glued  with the glue gun added the ladybird and charm
Am going to put this into the crafters cafe challenge

Ages

Well it has been ages since I have been on my blog, a  bit of a set back with my health and due to that we have sold our caravan  and bought a bus so we can start to do the things we had planned for our retirement. I have a cupboard  in the bus for some of my craft things enough so i don't go through craft withdrawals. We are off in a couple of hours and I have all my gear in the bus, so I am ready

garden theme

I like doing the challenges that have to be done to a sketch especially when the mind goes blank as mine does lately😏

This is the sketch

I used a tan coloured self adhesive card that was a matstack book (that I forgot I had) adhered to white base card, adhered pattern paper   cut another tan card piece adhered pink card to it,it looked a bit plain so I added lace to it cut the image on the cuttle bug then a scallop oval in the tan card added flourish cut the flowers and butterfly on the CB added the ladybird and leaves from my stash
I am please I found the adhesive card was so easy to use

This is the inside of my card I wanted to put the image on the front of the card, but it didn't really work for me, so here he is peeking out of the pot

doll canvas

I went to a paint and wall paper shop and asked if they had any out dated wallpaper sample books, mainly because my grand children were wanting to use my good papers when they are here crafting this way they can cut, scribble and paint to their hearts content (and I don't get upset to see my papers in the bin or cut to pieces) most wallpaper shops are happy to give the books away One of the books was for children's bedrooms and these papers were in it

The dolls are a border I used contrasting plain wallpaper first adhered it to the canvas I used double sided tape along edges and glue for the rest just to give it  a bit more stick adhered the panel to the top with DS tape and glue as well then run some washi tape to top and bottom of panel

I then stapled the back edges  just to be sure      the wallpaper wouldn't come off

I then cut butterflies on the cuttle bug  doubled them up and adhered to canvas

This will be a cheap way to occupy the kids in the school holidays

Altered Book

A few years ago my Daughter In Law's mother gave me a book that the pages were folded to spell my name. My very dear friend Jill saw it and loved it so I thought I would do one for herI have to admit that I did not do the folding of the book don't think I would have the patience to do it

This is the book  folded and undecorated

 This is the book decorated

I covered the book with wallpaper added a strip of hessian on the spine unfortunately I didn't take a photo of that I then put two strips of crochet tape front and back, made the flower with hessian and paper from another book, cut the leaves on the cuttle bug with papers from my stash, added beads and gems  for the butterfly trail, Hessian string wound around the book and tied up in a bow, I tied a knot in the string before tying the bow so it wouldn't untie, added some little butterflies to inside of book

was rather pleased with how it turned out and Jill loved it

have put it in this challenge

Hogs and Kisses

Am so pleased to see From the heart blog  up and running again this month’s stamp  is a pig and Hershey chocolates
Cut the card on the Cuttle Bug with a couture creations nesting die I partially cut it so I could turn it around to make the card larger did the same with the backing paper that was in my stash The hearts didn’t quite look right being white so I got one of my punches that cuts out a border of hearts and used the hearts that came out of the die and placed them in all on the white hearts printed image onto card, with a spare so I could 3D it, printed sentiment on same piece of card cut the image and chocolates with the scan n cut  coloured pig with copics and put it alltogether

Back to crafting

After a bit of a wonky year 2016  with 3 trips to hospital and a operation I am starting to get back to my crafting.
Have had my son,DIL and grandson living here for a few months so most of my craft time was doing things with him, making all sorts of super hero masks, pirate hats, treasure boxes and heaps of colouring in we even made a few cards for his Mum and Dad.
They have since moved on so now its my turn to do what I want, hopefully my mojo has not taken off with them 😊
