Barbie Doll

Did a bit of book folding while away over Christmas and am slowly getting them done
This is one of my dolls

I measured and cut the book
Can't remember how many folds  there was
Fold is made by bringing top right hand corner down to left ,but by just folding to the column of lines
Should form a fold like this
The barbie doll was chopped of  just below the waist  and made a  paper mache bodice. It is best to decorate the doll before gluing her to the dress I then put crochet lace around bodice and a bit of ribbon and a pink rose in middle
I then adhered pink roses onto her dress

and some little pearl bows to her hair

doing her hair was a mission there is so much of it

Book Folding

I do not usually go into such detail blogging my craft but this is to give a couple of ladies an idea of how I did it
As I can't always find hard covered books I have been making my own with cardboard.
Sometimes as with this one I added extra panels to strengthen it
Scored two lines to form the spine
Covered  the outside with wallpaper
Wallpaper is good as it is strong and if you are cheeky like me you can go to your local wallpaper shop and get the sample books when the lines are deleted
And its good for the grand kids, save's our good papers

Back view
Don't worry about the creases as shown here they flatten out when book is closed
I have used double sided tape to adhere wallpaper  and you need to adhere one front first ,then the spine then the other front like covering school books OR you end up with a bit of a mess
Before  I adhered my inside wallpaper I adhered lace to the card board
one side looks a bit messy as I made a wee boob
 Next comes the fun bit
I Used a book that the page was 20 cm marked down 10 cm from top
I then cut it across
Some patterns tell you to do 100 folds but I didn't feel it was enough so instead of  ripping off the cut pieces from the spine I left it so I could fold more if needed
I did

Take the top Right hand corner and fold it to the left but only go the  column

So it should look like this

This is how it will look all folded

Position "vase" then adhered to book
This is how it looks from top

This is the Bottom

This is standing
 This is the book decorated
I forgot to take a picture of the flowers
All of them were made by me three different shapes and they all have a pearl in the centre
The ribbon is purely for decoration the book keeps it's shape by gluing the first and last pages to the wallpaper
Not too sure if I will put the extra flowers on the bottom

The actual folding of the book took about ten - fifteen minutes The decorating took a couple of days
But I enjoyed doing it and will be doing more

A twirl

Just love this image and have been meaning to do something with it for ages
Backing paper from my stash (was actually looking for something else ) with a strip of orange, as near to the orange in the backing paper
Adhered to purple card then onto a white base card
Die cut image with the cuttlebug distress inked the edges
                                  Sentiment done on the computer
                                Am entering into these challenges

New Year

  Wow 2018 is here

🚌  Been away in our bus to the lake for Christmas and New Year had a good time  a bit boozy at times but very relaxing and as usual it was nice catching up with the crowd we hang around with at Christmas We sneaked away for a couple of days in between Christmas and new year to catch our breath and dry out a bit
As I was unable to fish I took half my craft room along (not really it would fill the bus) and where we go at the lake there is no electricity I found and bought a battery operated glue gun was so excited that I could do gluing while away ....no such luck  ðŸ˜’ it wouldn't get hot enough to melt the glue.
I took my trusty Cuttle Bug and some dies with me so I managed to get some book folding, colouring images, and some flowers made. Robin told me we have an inverter in the bus so I will be able to take the glue gun with me.....could of told me sooner     ðŸ˜ž
But at least I did manage to get some crafting done now I just have to go put it all together 💮
