Embossing sheepski image

This challenge at Creative Knockouts is for Embossing using a image from Sheepski design  I chose this design, butterfly , as I had to make a man card and I wanted to try the technique of inking an embossed card ...... Man cards are always a challenge for me to make

I used craft card for my base card, Embossed black card with this EB folder (can't think of the name of it) then I swiped over it with gold sparkle pigment ink I did it twice, I also went a bit thicker around the edges a bit of ink changes the whole look

I put the image in a word document and changed the colour, then put a border around it, I cut three, two I did not colour  The top image I coloured with colouring pencils and outlined it with fine liners. I cut two strips of plain black card and heat embossed the sentiment
I adhered the embossed card to the base, adhered the strips of card then adhered the images, the top one I used 3D foam
I will definitely use this technique again

Concertina Pocket Card

Another shaped card this one is a Concertina Pocket Card once again there are tutorials and measurements for this on You Tube

I am in a small card group here in New Zealand and we have a monthly car swap, so nice to get a card in the mail, and the theme for that month was an interactive card

I had recently been to a card class using Mintay Papers it was the meet me in Paris set, such lovely papers to work with and I had papers and scraps left over enough to make this card

The lady I was to send the card to has traveled and Paris was one of her destinations

One of the first things to do with the card was to score two lines on the fold of the card so that it looks like a book this is so with the thickness of the inside of the card it folded neatly and the ribbon used to tie the card together fitted nicely

I used  hot pink card as my base, adhered the pink backing paper, that looks like it has a white  embroidered flower on it, onto white card then a piece of white ribbon to tie the card up, then a tag with the tower on it adhered the camera, glasses and card with 3D tape then it was onto the inside

Once again there was a lot of measuring , cutting and pasting that was the reason for the two scoring lines I used the same pink backing paper as on the front of the card, added other bit of ribbon to the back, the pockets and front pieces were backing paper with peonies on it, such pretty paper.
now the interactive part of my card was all the bits and pieces I was putting into pockets

I covered the score lines with a strip of gem lace (only way I can think to describe it) The pockets were filled with tags, doily's made with card BP paper and images scraps of paper on the pink card, a perfume bottle a cat a envelope with a dog to name a few there was space to put things on the back of the concertina part, in the bottom of the pocket, gems and brads you can just put anything you want to on a card like this

This card also took some time to put together but I think it was worth it and the lady receiving it like it

Envelope box card

I have recently got back into making Shaped cards, flowers, using different textured papers and other beady embellishments. I also get ideas and inspiration from Pinterest and when I saw the envelope box card I knew I had to make one, You Tube has also got some great tutorials

I am enjoying doing them again, this one I made for a very dear friend of mine.

There was a bit of measuring cutting and pasting to do so I got that all together and adhered the Backing paper I used dusty pink card stock for the base and the Backing Paper was from my stash

this was it put together I misjudged the side bit but that will be covered with flowers

The back is only half covered, as the white card was just that to write on and to hinge

I made an assortment of flowers one of the white flowers is made of toilet paper the other with a handi (paper )towel, three flowers were made with flower crepe paper, it is a bit firmer than normal crepe paper, the other flowers were made of card stock I cut an assortment of leaves with the cuttle bug and a bunch of hearts there was also some artificial flowers and a string of silver thick thread

I then had a play around to see how my flowers would be placed then took a photo to give myself a guide line

I put it together by using the oasis ( the grey block) I cut it to fit the box My flowers all had a wire stem, I tried using florist tape around the wire but they didn't go in the oasis very well so I just put them in without the tape Once I was happy with the flowers I added some leaves It needed a bit more so I put some small carnation flowers underneath the larger flowers and a string of hearts to the back of the box

The front finished finally

there was also a hinge at the back to help the box stand upright the hinge was made with card

I really enjoyed making this card, although it did take a while putting all the bits together and building the card, but to me it was well worth the effort it took.

My friend just loved it she has it on show for everyone to see
