Martini girls

The theme this week at creative knockouts is thankful with an image from pattiescreations the image I am using is martini girls

I am not sure what this fold is called but it was simple to do

The front view
The backing paper was adhered to the card, the side strips white card the front panel was a plain colour that was  lightly embossed

The back view the card is the same only with a white panel so it can be written on the backing paper was smaller because It was all I had left

Then it was time to put it together I coloured my image with copics distress inked the edges and adhered to the patterned backing paper, I added a strip of plain card to the bottom of the girls dresses ( the colouring was a bit uneven) added a birthday sentiment I cut the flower white and was going to give them a purple edge, then I remembered I had bought the grandkids some metallic felt  pens I was quite pleased with how they turned out so they are now mine, but I will share .I  then spritzed the die cut with water and scrunched them up to dry I die cut some leaves put mogpodge on them and left them to dry. the next day I adhered them to the card there is also small sparkly gems in each of the corners and some water gems on the flower and leaves

New crafting buddy

We recently adopted a cat well she adopted us first, she was a cat that had wandered and she made it next door Gucci is her name ??? the neighbor's decided they would keep her went to the vet to get her desexed and micro chipped she was already and she was 3 years old we thought she was just a kitten, the original owners said that they were happy to let Gucci stay with the neighbors then the neighbor's went away for 3 weeks and I was feeding the cats the Gucci would wait for me on my deck when it was feed time go next door for her feeds then come over to ours got to the stage that she was here all the time so after the neighbors got back she still stayed here so we had to adopt her she is now a cats weight  and she is just gorgeous. She now has a cat door to come and go, has a  choice of 4 beds to sleep on and we are waiting for a water fountain thing to her to drink from as at the moment she gets on the basin in the bathroom and we have to turn the tap on for her to have a drink  she likes to follow the sun and when I was in my craft room she came in got onto my table promptly lay down I went to get a bit of paper that was near her and she put her paw on it as much to say don't disturb me so I didn't she completely run's our household and us but we don't mind 😻

My computer got sick so I have been out of action for a while and I have to say I was going into withdrawals But it is back now.

I missed this card being published

The image to be used was cheerful Santa from the paper shelter was meant to have a favorite embellishment but I forgot that

Not too sure what this fold is called but have posted more photos The base card was folded in half and then one side cut from top top bottom papers from my endless stash then a second card was made  one end of the card and the paper was cut on the cuttle bug the bottom of the card is adhered to base card The image I decided to put him in a snow globe,a digi stamp, I adhered the snow globe with foam dots to stand the card p you sit the cut out end on to the folded out part of the card
Here are the rest of the photo's

Our challenge this time at creative knockouts is Embossing, any type of embossing with a image from sheepski designs and I am using, augie a delightful looking bear

I printed him off large as I wanted him to be the main element of the card I coloured him with copics and pinched a couple eyes out of my husbands fishing fly tying box they looked much better than googly eyes.
I embossed the card with a ezy cut folder but they don't name them.I lightly swiped a rusty hinge embossed ink over it,
I then cut a line in the card just enough for augie to slide in,then it was adhered to white base card So when you open the card you don't see the split just looks so much neater.
The  fold on the card didn't look right so I put a tartan ribbon on it then the gold braided ribbon on top. The sentiment was done on the computer and inside the card I put "Just checking in to see how you are doing"

Christmas in July

This week at creative knockouts the theme is Christmas in July. The image I had to work with is this lovely one from polkadoodles called Hot Chocolate.

I thought it was a bit early for christmas cards but  a couple of my grandchildren are already counting down the weeks so maybe it"s not too early

I coloured the image with copics and then covered it with cellophane, the cup and spoon look white but I coloured them in a very light blue along the edges just to give them a bit of depth, I cut the hole in the red card and made a wreath to go around the circle using a leaf punch (there were a few) then I cut some holes with the hole punch to make the berries and used a black roller tip pen to put the dots on them the bells are a die cut..I coloured them with copics as well The lolly backing paper was from a magical stack,I adhered it to the white base card then the main image was adhered to that.I put the image and sentiment on an angle just because it didn't look right to me stuck in the middle The sentiment is a ribbon

So I guess this is the start of my christmas cards

And Relax

Hi There My DT card for this challenge at creative knockouts is for a fun fold, I used this image and relax from all dressed up

I have recently taken up yoga, I was visiting a friend and we were doing yoga together also the card swap  group that I am in, was for a spinner easel card so this card was good for both

I went onto YouTube and looked at a tutorial from Jennifer McGuire to do this card.My card was a little bit bigger than normal so it was made in two parts I downloaded the backing paper of the net and to keep the flowers this size I had to copy and paste four squares onto a word document to print it ,I adhered it to blue card with washi tape so I could die cut the hole  and using the same blue card I cut out a frame. using word I put my image on then copied and pasted it then rotated one I then coloured the image with copics, used some dental floss to one image then adhered the two together I adhered backing paper to blue card then positioned the image securing it with double sided tape (cellotape could be used) so the floss did not loosen up, I then adhered that to the white base card. I then had to add the bottom piece of card  I embossed the card with a forever friends Folder it looked like the lotus flower the lower card was folded and adhered to base card the sentiment was done on the computer the gems represent candles the idea for this card is to wind the image up and then put into the envelope so when the person receiving the card pulls it out the image will spin the light blue in the back ground is my scan n cut when the card is opened up it's just a hole
Great idea for a child's card

Friends

The latest challenge at creative knockouts is anything goes and the DT were to use a beccys place image I picked this one over the back fence these cheeky wee faces grabbed me and I know heaps of people who have dogs so this will be used a lot

I printed off the image and coloured with copics made a stencil for the fence and used Brick Red Distress ink to colour it, I fiddled around a bit with all my elements and the card turned out totally different to how I was going to do it.
I cut the circle out off the black card with the cuttle bug, then embossed the card with the chain fence embossing folder, not that it is noticeable with the picture, the paw prints are a backing paper from my stash that I was originally going to use instead of the black card, the fence and dogs were originally on separate white card so I ended up fussy cutting the dogs so I could use the paw prints I put the paws over the fence and  a small foam dot under the dogs to keep them secure I then mucked around with the sentiment to get it into two pieces I enjoyed doing this card once I had decided what to do with it
So hop over to creative.knockouts and join our challenge

sunshine delight

For this Challenge at creative knockouts the theme is love/valentines/anniversary with a image from polkadoodles called sunshine delight

I had this base card, and as I am trying to use up some of my bits, thought it would be good for this image I coloured it with copics then decided to use this die only thing was I haven't used it a lot so I had one bit of die too much, so it separated the frame and image, and as I didn't want to colour in another one I decided to distress ink the edges turned out well
The purple flower and leaves, the pink sentiment, that was a new die, keeping with the colour scheme I cut with The Cuttle Bug I then added some flat pearl beads

Retro Toaster

For my first post for this year at creative knockouts is for this image from streamside studios called retro toaster I thought it was a fun wee set and I would use it a bit

After having my annual cleanup of my craft room I decided I needed to use up some of my scrappy bits so I put these two papers together with a ribbon fussy cut the images and coloured with copics My grandson Alex wanted a copy of the pic and it was his idea to cut the toaster and put the slice of toast through it I cut the hats and bow from the dotty backing paper rather than using the copics The sentiments came with the image set the bottom sentiment is adhered to Brown card as the pink got  a bit lost
