Celebrations

My first DT card for 2022 with creative knockouts I was allowed to pick an image from patties creations called newborn love I kept going back to this image I think it is just lovely

I printed out the image onto the card then made a mask because I decided I was going to stencilled the background, stamped the sentiments I added lace to the underside then  ribbon on top and tied a bow, then adhered it to a pink base card. I wanted the baby to be the focal point, so I printed an extra image coloured it with copics adhered it to the card with foam squares. Haven't quite decided what to put on the inside the card but there will be "she will be in safe hands"
I have been knitting all my left over bits of wool, into Beanies for premmie babies that I am going to give to my local hospital (if I am allowed to do that with covid) so I am also going to make a few cards with this image to go with them

Hairdresser Gnome

I have fallen in love with Gnomes and they are so easy to make so I decided to make my Sister in law a hairdresser one

I used a cone for the Gnome  bought a pair of red socks at the Dollar shop and used it for the bottom cut out a piece of blue material and made a pocket and I made a name badge, the name of her salon, and glued it to the apron, her hair was made from fur and the coloured bit were cheap hair extensions from the Dollar store  The hat, made with felt and sewed together with a blanket stitch, added a bell, the flowers from felt were cut with the cuttle bug the little hairdressing tools were from a packet of craft buttons. The nose I had problems with I can not find a bead without a hole or a plain one so I covered what I had with a bit of white sock worked out ok I have another three on the go, but christmas has got in the way, My SIL loved it and has put it on display in the salon
There are a lot of great tutorials out there for the gnomes  as I said they are easy to do and they dont take long to make  and if you are lucky enough you can also get a free pattern I think I spent more time  decorating her

tis the season

Haven't had much time for card making lately too many other things to do

My DT card for creative knockouts is from The Artsy stamper and I picked this image called seaside holiday set the image made me think of the lake where we go each christmas

The base card is red, I found this baking paper in my ever growing stash and it is meant to look like water drops. The image I printed out and coloured it with copics the boat I coloured orange as that is the colour of our little row boat that my husband patiently rows around the lake, (Motors are not allowed on the lake and it is so peaceful you can hear the fish jumping) I cut an extra image, so I would have the presents cut them out and  put them on top so they were slightly raised I distressed the edges or the card then adhered to red card, same as the base. I did the sentiment on the cut n scan and adhered it sideways just to be different

Fishes

This weeks DT card was to be winter wonderland from fabrikafantasy  but there was not a lot of images to choose from and I ended up with this one  betta fish crowntail

I downloaded a glass from the net and positioned the fish and sentiment onto the glass, the bubbles greenery and stones were stamps I coloured them with gel pens. Did the sentiment on the computer  and cut with the cuttlebug. The card I made it slim line just enough for the width of the glass, folded the front panel in half and cut it off then attached the glass to the front with foam

The winter part was the fish comes inside for the winter, the wonder land part was the fish wondering if he might be get drunk by someone

Is there cake

This card for creative knockouts is this image macdoodle dog a image from Hetty Clare and it was to be lots of layers

I started off with a white base card the backing paper was from my stash I cut the paper a bit too small, and as we know there are no mistakes in card making, so I cut it in half and adhered to the cardI then got a strip of white card and a smaller strip of blue card embossed it with swiss dots. printed out the image cut the image out then cut two more cards a larger size, distress inked the edges, adhered the white strip first, then one of the squares, then the blue strip then the topper.Did the sentiments on the computer cut them out and adhered them to blue card then white card

Halloween

Halloween has only been observered here in NZ for a few Years so its not a card I need to make but... it is my image boo i can see you for my DT card at creative knockouts and the colours to use were black purple and orange

I used a backing paper that had bats on it,adhered to black card. Printed out my image cut it out with the cuttle bug and cut a scallop, coloured it with copics,I then cut out the spider web adhered it to the card the put my topper on top I then added the bats and spider, one of the first die sets I bought, I then put a thin strip of double sided tape and sprinkled purple glitter on it. Then to make it a trick I made the card to open on the left side not the right

Thursday, 7 October 2021

I like many others I am sure do not like making condolence cards. This is for a lovely man who was confined to a wheelchair after having a stroke many years ago and he will be missed by his family and friends I have done this card a little different

I started with a black base of 28 cm x 15 cm then cut the white card  26 cm x 14 size is irrelevant can be any size you want. I printed the sentiment onto the card before cutting.

I then cut the black cards spine 14 cm about 1/2 cm from the two top edges here you can see the tape lines

Here is two views inserting the card through the slit

Once I had the cards fitted I adhered the top and inside of card together so as to reinforce the whole card.
So then I decorated it  I made all the flowers and leaves with one of my dies, made the angel and then put ribbon around it

Friends

Am a bit late posting this DT card for creative knockouts and I used this lovely stamp from  LeAnn's    World  srocky and renae

I have had this backing paper for forever never really had a stamp to go with it. I sized the paper to fit the base and cut  a square in it then cut a frame using the same die with a larger die.I printed off the image with the sentiment written under it then coloured the image with copics. added a butterfly to the corner

Tic Tac Toe

This week my DT card for Creative Knockouts is a tic tac toe card using using this image from Jans digi stamps called Snow globe family    My tic tac toe recipe was; a fancy fold card, this image and ribbon or twine

I decided to do a snow globe card.I printed off the the family and coloured with copics and added some snow flakes I adhered the ribbon, from my stash, to the bottom of the base. I then cut out the card using the the globe as a guide Then adhered it to the base card I then added a bit of glitter glue the the hats and scarfs, the snow flakes looked a bit dull so added some glitter glue to them as well I then added the bow with the bell
The front was a bit top heavy so I cut two scalloped circles one with christmas paper from my stash the other white card will stamp a sentiment on when I decide who to give it to

Daffodils

Well here we are the last day in August and the last day of level 4 lock down here in NZ, I thought I could craft in peace with no grandchildren around, but no, didn't get much crafting done and I really missed the kids. Just as well for phones, Level 3 is still pretty much the same as 4,for me

I did manage to do another of my DT cards with this Laurie Furnell image little girl & cute-kitty

I decided to make a stepper card,I printed out the image and coloured with copics, and I managed to get the cat coloured right, the backing paper, daffodils, was from my stash,Adhered to yellow base card.In the stamp set there was a row of three Daffodils  so I linked three together  to make a row of Daffodils, did two and adhered them to the step.Sentiment stamped Inside I put a square of white card with a panel of the backing paper A quick card to make once I decided what to do

I used kraft card for the base, the background was given to me ages ago from a friend, I adhered the jute ribbon to the backing card then a thin black ribbon,I then adhered the card to the base  I copied the sentiment and printed it out then cut them out onto kraft card

Seesaw

For this week at creative knockouts  the theme is all stitched up and the image I used was a stamp from Hetty Clare Art called  ladies on a seesaw

On white card I wrote the sentiments and put the image in between and printed it off I then printed another off to make a mask for the ladies and the clouds I then used my distress inks and coloured the sky and grass. I then coloured the image with copics  I then punched the edges on  a light green card although it looks blue and adhered the image to  it then onto a white base card and then I realised the theme was all stitched up lucky I used the punch I did  I was able to thread some gold thread through it
I dont know if my camera is getting old but it hasn't been showing the true colours, and the pictures look a bit dull

Santa leads the way

I printed off the image then embossed the card with a christmas embossing folder from EZ cut, I then coloured it and the image with copics  it is not noticeable on the card but the hanging strings and the thick border are coloured a light grey and the snowflakes a light blue. I then adhered it to a gold card then onto an embossed blue base card that is also not noticeable, added a gem to the corners of the border

Acorn Ale

This weeks DT card for  creative knockouts is this lovely image from Sheep ski designs acorn ale

I saw this crossover pointy card on you tube so decided to make it, it's a very simple card to make.
I used a double sided backing paper, printed off my image and cut on the scan n cut then did another in plain card to make it stand out a bit more. The acorn ale sign was originally was connected to the glass so I cut it off before I  put it through the scan n cut. I coloured the image with copics adhered it to the card . I then adhered the image to the card with foam to 3d it same with the sign. The other sign I saw on the net,cut it out adhered to coloured card then onto the card

Book journey

For this week at creative knockouts it's anything goes and  I had this image to use journey-through-a-book from Star Stampz I had picked this stamp myself and I have to admit when I got around to doing it I was a little stumped. Then thinking about the fact it was anything goes I decide to do a shadow box

I used some light purple thin card to make the box and lined the inside with striped backing paper coloured the image with copic's cut all the images around the box on the scan n cut (saves so much time) some I coloured with copics, some were already coloured the sentiment was done on the computer
This is going on the wall in the grand kids bedroom

miss you

One of the things I like about digi stamps is you can erase or chop off bits, which is what I did with this image. There was a flouncy bit at the sides of her dress and to me it didn't look right so they went. I used a white textured card for my base and coloured the image with Faber Castell colour pencils, copics looked a bit heavy on a single layer.I also had to put another colour behind the card to take the photo as you couldn't see where the card started or finished

It is not a very clear picture the sentiment on it reads
I miss you
But not as much as you probably miss me
I;m pretty awesome

Furry Friends

The theme for this DT card for creative knockouts is furry friends. I am using this image from bugaboo stamps girl-teddy-hug I made another originally (it is at the bottom of this post) but I didn't think it was right as my DT card

So I have used two different purple backing papers put a purple piece of lace across the join not that it is that visible I used copics to colour her in then cut it and a scallop with the cuttle bug I then die cut my flowers and leaves, punched the other leaves  used a stick on pearl for the center of the flowers The sentiment was done on the computer

Am putting this into these challenges

My original card will be for the littlest granddaughter

Recipe

Here at  creativeknockouts our DT card was to be a recipe...

1- digi image,1- sentiment,2- pattern paper 3 embellishments

The image I chose to use from Le Anns World shopping-day

My two patterned papers were from a stack pad all about the girls that I bought in 2009 it was written on the back always wanted to use them just never had the right stamp to go with it,the three embellishments are brads that I put on the BP before taping them down, so they are hidden the 1 sentiment is a stamp the image I cut her out with the scan n cut leaving a small white border then I cut another one larger still coloured her with copics and put it altogether

Because I had cut two BP in half I made another card as well, the image is a bit larger

Basically did the same as the first one minus the embellishment The stamp was from a stamp set

Flour Child

The theme today at creativeknockouts is to finish the inside of the card and I chose to use this stamp flour-child from Jan's Digi Stamps

I started with a white base card measuring 13.5x13.5 got the cherry backing paper from "all about the girl"card stack which I have had since 2009, thought it was about time to use it again I used a red card and a heart punch to go along the edge Using the same colour card, I cut the doily on the cuttle bug and adhered the image that was coloured in with copics
For the inside I punched the red card same as the front, did the sentiment on the computer put a piece of ribbon with cupcakes on the bottom added a couple of hearts that came out of the punch

you and me

My eldest grandson asked me to do a birthday card for his girlfriend and she has a big dog whom she loves to bits, so when I found this image in my digi's I knew this was the one to use

Started with a white base card used a stencil and distress ink to make the background coloured it with copics, green for her dress as it is her favorite colour. Adhered image to light green card then to base card Sentiment done on the computer, Scallop is light green card I cut the leaves same colour with the cuttlebug,Blue flowers cut with a punch and the little flowers are stick on(made out of same materials as stick on pearls) then the dog looked a bit bare so I blinged his collar with clear gems
She loved her card

Strawberry Delight

Been a while since I have been able to post anything, school holidays plus I have had a week away visiting a friend sooo relaxing

This card for creative knockouts is this lovely digi from fabrikafantasy sweet tooth hedgehog

My aim at the moment is to use my bits and pieces that I have in my stash you know the box "to use later"
So I started with a red base, then the white doily card then the red on top cut the image with the cuttlebug and coloured it with copics distress inked the edge then adhered to the scallop card.
As the base is red I have cut a panel in white same as the red on top and adhered it to the inside of the card
I have not put a sentiment on it or inside, as I don't know who or why I will give it too, guess I will at the right time

get well

This weeks DT card for creativeknockouts was the flower bud from artsystamper rose stamp set. Now I have to say it was a bit of a struggle, as it is an image I would not use and I had to really think of what to do with it ...but it is a challenge blog. The style that I have done C&S, is not usually my style either but it seemed after a couple of layouts C&S looked the best

This is a single layer card I cut two vase dies, so I could lay the leaves and flower flat, then adhered the other vase, as the bud was on top of the leaves it was a bit raised so I put some foam underneath tied gold cord around the vase added some butterflies then adhered it to the base card I stamped the sentiment with red ink then a light coat of black giving it a shadow effect

Friendship

At Creative knockouts  this week its friendship and I am using this stamp friendly walk from  LeeAnnes world

Cut the base card by putting the edge of the die to the middle (am not sure of the name of this die) Printed the image with the sentiment  on the bottom, then coloured with copics just as well I did an extra one as I made a boob with the dog so I cut the other one out and coloured it and adhered to the card. I then got a piece of purple and green ribbon made a green bow adhered to card, put a small green gem on the bow and three on the end of the ribbon

For the girls

This weeks card for creativeknockouts is this garden shed image the challenge was for the girls

I thought the shed might need a bit extra  with it so found this pre coloured lady image. It may not show so much but this is a stepper card with only one step
I coloured th shed with copics and did a die cut fence. The shed had a ladybird printed on its front so I put a wooden one on it, Die cut some grass and wee flowers, placed a small stick on pearl in the center punched out some butterfly's
This is the card side on I also put a little card hinge on the shed side as  I find stepper cards often don't sit right they tend to sag
So on the back I put my sentiment I printed it onto card then die cut it out
Am putting them onto these challenges

for the boys

This weeks DT stamp was precoloured

Cute little cats, had to be for a boy

I cut out the card base with a stamp shaped die ,then a square piece of card then the smaller stamp die. As the inside of the card is often just plain and the top can be top heavy I often put in another card piece as I have done with this one
I printed the sentiment onto card then cut out with the stamp die,put the same coloured card underneath and put a row of ribbon that has little paw prints on it,

Dancing Queen

As soon as I saw this image from dr-digi.I knew it would be the one I picked for when it was my choice for my DT card at creativeknockouts

I found the Backing Paper in my stash it has purple balloons on a teal background so that ended up being my colours I coloured the image with copics cut it out on the scan n cut with a slight border then cut another two each time making them a little bigger put them all together and adhered the card with foam strips. I put a flourish in two corners, made a flower and put a purple gem in the middle. on the bottom flourish is three little purple hearts and the rosette in the other corner

Another two

These are another two valentine cards out of the same set of  the Laurie Fernell Valentine stamps
Coloured with copics and the sentiment on balloon has been stamped. The man gnome has a heart brad on the end of his hat. I think this set will be used a bit not just valentines

January challenge for Beccy's is this lovely  bear
