Purple tree

For  this challenge at Creative knockouts is for lots of layers and we had a image from leannsworld  and I am using presents

This is for the youngest granddaughter Indi purple is her favourite colour so that's what colour I have gone for There is  two Backing Papers one is dots the other flowers they are adhered to purple card with two rows of lace  and all adhered to white base card The small white card is also on purple card  then the tree coloured with copics the merry christmas I downloaded and printed off twelve of them ,the rest to be used at some stage, they were coloured with copics and a sparkly gel pen was used for the stars I put double sided tape on the top and bottom of one that was not coloured then stuck the coloured one on top I then fussy cut them out made it so much easier to stick together and stick to the card there is a little pocket inside the card where I will put some money into

I can imagine Indi telling me that christmas trees are not purple but here in NZ we have a summer christmas so I like to do some christmas cards non traditional

Hubbies Birthday

Robin my Husband had a birthday the other day, this image I have had a while but until now had never used The three youngest grandsons thought it was hilarious and just like pop, mind you they can be just as bad, and I have been known to call him an old fart occasionally

I have not put a backing paper on the card I just wanted the image and die cut to stand out (and I was running out of time to get it finished) The sentiment is one of my new dies The image  and small sentiment was printed straight onto the card and has been coloured with copics
He had a laugh and was happy with it

Here is my DT card for creative knockouts uising a digital stamp from Mirtillamente Digital Stamps and I have chosen this image from  mirtillamente craftshop The callenge for this 2 weeks is anything goes

Here in NZ we are heading into spring so that is why I have chosen this image

The card group I am in have a monthly card swap and a theme was for a trellis card I did a crossover one and want ed to do one this way thought So I folded the card and cut off the front and used the piece I cut off for the trellis I embossed the card with the woodgrain folder I then  swiped them with a distressed ink pad Rusty Hinge and cut them into the strips I needed Not that it is noticeable I have built up the I cut and pasted the image six times then fussy cut them I coloured the image with copics Stamped the plane and heart on the sky  did the sentiment on the computer

I adhered the rest of the backing paper to the inside of the card and you can see the flowers through the trellis

Embossing

This challenge for  Creative knockouts  is embossing wet or dry with an image from Beccys place and I am using this image from the book lovers set

This image started off black & white so I put it on a word document and started to play

First I started with a frame then I picked the colour, took a while,

Then the image didn't look right black & white so I went and changed the colour of the image, that also took a while, but I was having fun there is so much you can do on a computer.

So in the end I went for the blue image, I cut two of them.

Next was did I want to colour it with copics or pencils, the reason I cut two

I didn't like either of them so decided to have it uncoloured

I embossed white card with the script folder and had some  a 12x12 size card pad that was already embossed, I did rescore it with a stylus and my score pal just to make it stand out a bit more

My sentiment did not turn out how I wanted I tried to heat emboss it using white powder didn't turn out that well so in the end I used a blue distress ink then after stamping it the first time I moved it slightly inked again then inked in the same spot with a gold sparkle ink can't see it too good  but I was pleased how it turned out

I did put a piece of string around the card and tied a bow but it looked out of place so that went

For this challenge at creative knockouts  is this image from the paper shelter called  summer face

I don't normally use a lot of animals for my cards so I had to really think of what to do with this image  In my Hallway I have a photo gallery of all my grand children so I thought why not for my card.
The backing paper was to represent wall paper then I cropped my pictures so they were just bits of the photos,so as not to loose my main image coloured them with copics, cut all the frames out with the cuttle bug I also cut out plastic pieces so they looked like the glass,I glued them all together then adhered them to the white base card. The main image I adhered with thin double sided foam just to give it a bit of a lift.I downloaded the bones and balls from the net and adhered them to the card the sentiment was  a stamp

Indi

Our youngest grandchild is turning 6 on Tuesday,so this card has all the things she likes to put on a card when she makes one here so there is spotty backing paper and ribbons. She is not too sure which is her favourite colour so she has both I downloaded the image from the net coloured the star of the wand and the sentiment with a gold glitter gel pen. Added a pink butterfly Brad and the middle of the bow is also a brad then I added the coloured gems so she should like her card then again at that age they are more interested in the present  😄

This weeks challenge at creative knockouts was to finish the inside something I don't do too often but it does finish of the card, the image I used was tango from sheepski designs

I made my own backing paper by copying the image making it a lot smaller then pasting it about 20 times adhered it to a maroon card used the same coloured card to cut the heart die and the tag, cut a white oval I coloured the image with copics then fussy cut it, Adhered to oval with foam squares

For the inside I used the same card as the front cut a large oval out of it so the white base card can either be written or stamped on  my sentiment on here has  been stuck on with washi tape so I can take it off so I can finish it off properly when I know who I will be giving it to or the occasion. I used a heart punch to cut the side edging

Lucas

Our eldest grandchild Lucas is turning 19 this week, where did that go. His other Grandfather has got him into Golf, he really likes it and I have to say he is rather good at it and has been playing a few tournaments, for the golf club and winning, has even beat his grandfather a couple of times So his Birthday card had to feature Golf

So I played around with endless pictures of golf balls and all things golf  did the sentiments got them all into the position I liked  got the middle image off the net and not that you can see it but I cut a extra ball for the main image and the one below it also the hand on the top one I was trying to attach the main ball with a spring to make it wobble, but couldn't, so I attached foam squares instead  the smaller ones I glued

I think I need to buy a new camera my photo's are not too clear

This weeks challenge at creative knockouts  is Outside Fun using a doctor digi  image and I chose peggys paddling pool

When I saw this image it made me think of my mum (who has long since passed away) her name was a unpronounceable dutch name so she was called  peggy or peg and she was a larger lady, but she would never have got into a pool like this.
I printed out two of the image then cut one with an oval die the other I fussy cut peggy and adhered her on top, I coloured the image with copics, then cut a larger oval in purple, adhered striped and spotty backing paper to purple card then adhered to a white base card flowers and leaves were cut on the cuttlebug the sentiment was in my bin of sentiments that I had done but not used,it was done on the computer using a free font called yessy that I downloaded

silly birds

This time at creative knockouts it's anything goes with this image silly birds on a wire from patties creations

I have to admit I was in a bit of a hurry with this card, it was for a grandson's birthday which I nearly forgot, otherwise I would of done something a bit different like maybe them hanging upside down
I put the image onto a word document and put a frame around it then printed the image I coloured the image with copics then adhered to a striped backing paper then onto a dotty paper then adhered it to a white slime line base card I was going to put wobbly eyes on the birds but the smallest ones were to large you couldn't see the whites of their eyes, stamped the sentiment and adhered it to green dotty backing paper

Spring

Well it has been a trying couple of months for me so have not posted for a while.

The challenge at creative knockouts is spring is in the air, not so here in NZ we are heading into Winter the image I am working with is positive vibes from Streamside Studios.

This perhaps isn't so spring like but there was heaps to choose from I think I got side tracked

I decided to keep this one plain and simple found the crocus wreath on the net inserted the girl and sentiment inside the wreath coloured her with copics and distress inked the edges Embossed the band of card then adhered all to white base card I have not  added any more to it nor done a sentiment inside I will leave that until I decide who to give it too

Rock hunt

It's been a while since I posted on here, life got in the way

During the Christmas School Holidays we took three of the younger grandsons on a rock hunt, they were told they had to bring a water bottle sun hat and a back pack that they could carry it back to the card themselves, one got inventive  and made two trips to the car, so the other two followed his lead we loaded up the card with kids gear and food and went to the Pareora river bed which is about 30 minutes south of Temuka while driving when we went past a paddock of sheep we said what funny looking cows they were, cows were sheep pigs in their sty's were chickens horses were reindeer so we had three in the back telling us what they really were, shaking their heads thinking we were nuts one asked don't you know what they are. By this time we were at the river.

Imagine the boys delight and excitement when Pop took them to these rocks, they couldn't believe what they were seeing one thought they were from the dinosaur era, so it was up to pop to explain it all. One rock was not as old it had the conch shells and the rock was a bit green, I told the boy it wasn't a fossil must be sheep's toe nails so that is what it got named. They all had a full back pack and some loose ones in the back of the car one of the boys made his own rock garden with them and it looks good the other two didn't hear much about what the parents thought, but we had a lot of fun and a bit of a picnic

Just goes to show you don't always have to spend money to have a good time. The boys have already asked when we are going back

These rocks pictured are my rocks we are going to redo our fish pond and I am going to put them there

Celebrations

This time at creative knockouts it's all about celebrations with this image almond blossoms from alex syberia designs

The theme for the card swap group I am in was to use the packaging of a parcel and I used packing foam I thought it made a lovely background so decided to do it on this card I also did a bit of crayon resist
I printed the image onto white card and one onto plain paper to make a mask I rubbed white crayon randomly on the card then put distress ink on the foam and dabbed it onto the card I coloured the image with copics (I still haven't quite mastered the skill of flicking so my lines are a bit thick) I stamped the sentiment with distress ink also I then adhered it to a aqua coloured card that looks blue in the photo and adhered to white base card
I don't normally make my cards this plain but I rather like how it has turned out
